Theodore DonaldDavis-Marsh

June 1, 1944 - July 12, 2013

Mountain Ranch resident Theodore Donald Davis-Marsh died July 12 at Mark Twain Medical Center. He was 69.

Mr. Davis-Marsh was born in Charles City, Iowa, to Theodore Henry Marsh and Mildred Nettie (Willert) Marsh.

He spent much of his childhood in Guatemala and El Salvador, where his parents were missionaries.

He spoke fluent Spanish.

He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Northwestern College in Iowa.

Mr. Davis-Marsh served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam war.

He was a stay-at-home father and raised five children.

He settled in Mountain Ranch 20 years ago.

He enjoyed researching cutting edge techniques for health, wellness and spiritual enlightenment.

Mr. Davis-Marsh was preceded in death by wife, Ruth Ann Davis-Marsh; and his mother, Mildred Marsh.

He is survived by his father, Theodore Marsh, of Oklahoma; children, Erika Davis-Marsh, of Los Angeles, Cassandra Jones, of Los Angeles, Marc Davis-Marsh, of San Jose, Jon Davis-Marsh, of San Jose, and Ryan Davis-Marsh, of San Jose; grandchildren, Zoee Ann Davis-Marsh, of San Jose, and Quinn Tiger Jones, of Los Angeles; and siblings, Gary Marsh, of Chicago, Ill., Marilyn Michael, of Boston, Mass., and Judy Messina, of Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Mountain Ranch Community Club, P.O. Box 122, Mountain Ranch, CA 95246.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Mountain Ranch Community Club, 8049 Washington St., Mountain Ranch. A potluck will follow.

San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Debra Dee(Waterman) Russell

March 16, 1949 - Aug. 4, 2013

Sonora resident Debra Dee (Waterman) Russell died Aug. 4 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 64.

Mrs. Russell was born Debra Dee Waterman in Marysville to Dennis and Thelma Waterman.

She married her high school sweetheart Gordon Russell on June 20, 1970.

They lived in San Mateo where she worked as a dental technician for 10 years.

They moved to Tuolumne County in 1979.

She, her husband and her parents built houses on Twain Harte property they bought in 1983. Mrs. Russell lived there until moving to Avalon Care Center in Sonora two years ago.

She enjoyed arts, crafts and party planning and was known for baking a Coca-Cola cake, her family said.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Waterman, in 2006; and her father, Dennis Waterman, in 2011.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Gordon Russell, of Twain Harte; and daughter, Amanda Green, of Sonora.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapel in the Pines, 18580 Cherokee Drive, Twain Harte.
