Jeffrey Scott Klipple

June 2, 1970 - March 19, 2013

San Jose resident Jeff Klipple, a frequent visitor to the Mother Lode, died March 19 of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. He was 42.

Mr. Klipple was born in Burlingame to Barbara and Russ Klipple.

He was employed by NewTech in San Jose for over 20 years until he was no longer able to work due to his illness.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, target shooting and the outdoors, particularly in the Mother Lode.

Mr. Klipple is survived by his mother, Barbara Klipple, of Murphys, father and stepmother, Russ and Blythe Klipple, of Mi-Wuk Village; brother, Kristopher Klipple, of Murphys; stepsisters, Andrea Reak and her family, of Dublin, Calif., and Kathi McGuire and her family, of Allen, Texas; stepbrother, Jason Taboada, and his family, of San Jose; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Central Park/Lake Elizabeth, Area 6, Brooke 1, 40000 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont.

His ashes will be spread at his favorite fishing hole and camping site at a later date.

Bay Area Cremation and Funeral Services in Stockton is handling arrangements.

Marilyn Jean (Rice) Maack

June 26, 1938 - March 21, 2013

Sonora resident Marilyn Maack died Thursday at her daughter's home in Modesto. She was 74.

Mrs. Maack was born in San Jose.

She and her husband, Alvin Maack, lived in several different towns throughout the years, including Campbell, in Santa Clara County, Kerrville, Texas and Citrus Heights.

Mrs. Maack retired in 1996 and relocated to Sonora the following year.

She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, quilting and crocheting.

She was a member of Sierra Bible Church and the Etceteras Club of Tuolumne County and the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Maack.

Mrs. Maack is survived by her children and their spouses, Pamela and Frederic Clark, of Modesto, and Jeffrey and Lisa Maack, of Morgan Hill; grandchildren, Catherine Clark, of Grass Valley, Katie Clark, of Aptos, Ian and Eric Clark, both of Modesto, Katrina and Nick Miceli, both of Fort Rucker Ala., Jacob Maack, of Sonora, Dylan, Paul and Brandon Maack, of Morgan Hill; her sisters, Louella Kennedy, of Willows, and Elizabeth Rettke, of Eagle River, Alaska.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the New Creation United Methodist Church,1675 Winchester Blvd., Campbell. Burial will be to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos- Almaden Road, San Jose.

Darling Fischer Chapel of the Hills in Los Gatos is handling arrangements.

Daisy Belle (Tackett) Weaver

August 7, 1923 - March 21, 2013

Coulterville resident Daisy Weaver died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. She was 89.

Mrs. Weaver was born in Whitefield, Okla. She moved with her family during the Dust Bowl, and settled in Riverbank.

She worked as a lead inspector at Norris Industries in Riverbank for over 25 years, then retired to become a homemaker. She lived in Coulterville the last 42 years.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Weaver, in 2002.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Felix and Danise Weaver, of Modesto, Harold and Joella Weaver, of Riverbank, Arthur Weaver, of Coulterville, and Gay and Joel Bergmann, of Redding; grandchildren, Danielle Noonan, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Aaron Dean, of Copperopolis, Tyrum Dean, of Arcada, Amanda Wey, Ashley Weaver and Cody Weaver, all of Modesto, Michael Weaver, of Sonora, Ryan Weaver, of Riverbank, and Keelie Weaver, of Sacramento; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Terry Tackett, of Riverbank.

A visitation was planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Heuton Memorial Chapel, 400 S. Stewart St., Sonora. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dudley Cemetery, 6756 Greeley Hill Road in Greeley Hill. A reception will follow at the Greeley Hill Community Center, 10332 Siske Road.
