Jack Dumas Robertson

April 28, 1918 - Jan. 24, 2013

Former Sonora resident Jack Dumas Robertson died Jan. 24 at Yuba City Care. He was 94.

Mr. Robertson was born in Kansas City, Mo., to John Floyd and Jennie Laffoon Robertson. He moved to Oakland with his father, who worked for the General Motors windmill company.

Mr. Robertson worked in Oakland as a die maker, and moved to Sonora, where his wife was born, continuing his work for a total of 60 years in the trade.

Mr. Robertson was a past master of East Belt Tuolumne Lodge No. 8 Free and Accepted Masons, and member of York Rite Bodies Chapter No. 2, Sonora Council No. 5, Pacific Commandery No. 3, Aahmes Shrine, Allied Masonic Degrees, Royal Order of Jesters, Heber Chapter OES No. 181, in Roseville, Oakland Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, and Masonic Luncheon Club. He served the Sonora Rainbow Girls for several years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lois Robertson, and son, John Harlan Robertson, in 1988.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Ed Smith, of Marysville; grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Kristen Smith, of Marysville, Jaime Robertson, of Atwater, and Anna Lisa and Joe Jackson, of Atlanta; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service will be held 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Masonic Hall at 384 Church St. in Murphys.

Doris (Stoffel) Boughner

Sep. 16, 1926 - Jan. 28, 2013

Jamestown resident Doris Boughner died Jan. 28 at Casa Viejos Assisted Living in Jamestown. She was 86.

Mrs. Boughner was born in New Cumberland, W.Va., to Dorothy Vivian Korn and Edwin J. Stoffel. She married William E. Boughner in 1944 and moved to Orange County for his work about 40 years ago.

She worked as a real estate agent in Orange County, and moved to Tuolumne County in 1984, after her husband's death, to be with family. She continued working as a real estate agent in Tuolumne County until she retired at age 70.

Mrs. Boughner enjoyed reading books, gardening and sewing.

She is survived by daughters, Marsha Boughner Smusz, of Sonora, and Kristine Boughner Grayum, of Columbia; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Private family services are planned.

Dorothy Marie (Magers) Wright

May 5, 1929 - Feb. 2, 2013

Dorothy Marie Wright died Feb. 2 at her home in Oakdale. She was 83.

Mrs. Wright was born in Palmora, Mo., to Sam and Ola Magers. She moved to California with her family when she was in junior high school.

She lived in Oakdale for 71 years, and was a frequent visitor to the home of her daughter, Sharon Ozbirn, in Sonora.

Mrs. Wright was an Avon representative for 50 years and was recognized as a President's Club Member for being a top salesman.

She was a member and Sunday school superintendent of the Bethel Assembly of God in Oakdale, and member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus, Red Hat Society, Oakdale Christian Women's Club, and Living Hope Fellowship Church. Mrs. Wright enjoyed sewing.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Wright, in 1976.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold Wright, of Oakdale; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Bob Ozbirn, of Sonora, Cindy Smart, of Oakdale, and Marci Wright, of Oakdale; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Clara Magers, of Modesto; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was to be held at 11 a.m. today at Oaklawn Memorial Park, 421 N Sierra Ave., Oakdale, and a memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. at Bethel Assembly of God, 105 E. G St., Oakdale.
