Hazel Dennett died Dec. 20 at her home in Twain Harte. She was 104.
She was born in Trees, La., and raised in El Paso, Texas.
She married John Dennett in 1929. She raised their family in the Los Angeles area.
She was a homemaker for 84 years. She enjoyed traveling and touring the Southwest in her recreational vehicle, her family said.
She moved to Twain Harte to live with her daughter when she could no longer drive. She lived there the past 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dennett, in May of 1996. She also was preceded in death by a son, John Dennett Jr., in 2009
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine Ann and Ron Troxell, of Twain Harte; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Alexander 'Junior' Anthony Quinones

Alexander "Junior" Anthony Quinones died Jan. 6, at his home in San Andreas.
He was born in Colusa, one of seven children to Alejandro Perez and Carmen Cortez Quinones. His family moved to San Andreas when he was 2 months old.
Mr. Quinones worked as an electrician for Calaveras Cement until the plant's closing in 1987. He was union president for the plant, United Lime and Gypsum Worker's Local 57, and the vice president of the Union's Western Regional District.
He later owned and operated Quinones Electric for 50 years.
He worked to improve the Calaveras County community, his family said. He helped establish the San Andreas Community Park and Turner Park.
He was a member of the San Andreas Community Covenant Church and aided in the building of a new sanctuary in 1976 and its expansion in 2006. He was a volunteer fireman for many years and became chief of the San Andreas Volunteer Fire Department. He helped develop Santa's Express, a food, clothing and toy drive in Calaveras County.
Mr. Quinones also served on the Human Resources Council Board of Directors, was a member of Murphys Friends, volunteered for Cub Scouts of America and San Andreas Cemetery District, and participated in the San Andreas Town Hall Restoration.
He traveled with the San Andreas Community Covenant Church for Mexicali Outreach to assist a small village called K-49 at Francisco Murgia for 20 years.
Mr. Quinones was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Hirpolito Quinones.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Quinones, of San Andreas; three children and their spouses, Lynette and John Rapetti, of San Andreas, Tami Sterrett and Tom Wilson, of Burson, and Michael Quinones, of San Andreas; two grandsons, Justin Rapetti, of San Andreas, and Michael B. Sterrett, of Burson; his siblings, Rosemary Carney, of Bakersfield, Hank Quinones, of Cupertino, Paul Quinones and wife, Karin Quinones, of San Andreas, Sam Quinones, of Sacramento, and David Quinones, of Stockton; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at San Andreas Community Covenant Church, 261 Treat Ave. A private family burial will be held at Saint Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in San Andreas.

BOWNE - A celebration of life for Vincent Bowne, 58, of Sonora, who died Jan. 10 at the Sonora Regional Medical Center Transitional Care Unit, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sonora Elks Lodge. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
