Lawrence Gamble See

May 13, 1940 - Sept. 11, 2012

Angels Camp resident Lawrence Gamble See died Tuesday at his home. He was 72.

Mr. See was born in Christiansburg, Va., the oldest of 11 children.

He served in U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1965.

He served in Morocco and was stationed at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside and also Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado, where he received precision measurement electronics training.

While in Colorado he met Martha Sipe, a University of Colorado student.

The couple married and returned to Riverside.

They lived in the Bay Area and New Jersey before retiring to Angels Camp in 2002.

He worked as a high definition specialist for Sony Broadcasting for 37 years until retirement. He was involved in the development of high definition television for Sony.

Mr. See was a member of the Lynwood United Methodist Church in Pleasanton and Union Congregational Church in Angels Camp.

He was a member of the Riverside Astronomy Club.

He enjoyed woodworking.

Mr. See was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha See, of Angels Camp; his children and their spouses, Kevin and Heather See, of San Francisco, and Robert and Maria See, of Medford, Ore.; his siblings and their spouses, Norman and Sharon See, of Mount Perry, Ohio, Alvin See, of Wooster, Mass., Eric and Penny See, of Annapolis, Md., Elizabeth Watson, of Baltimore, Rachel See, of Baltimore, Md., Margaret and Ed Justice, of Millersville, Md., and Carol and Dana Wolney, of Columbia, Md; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Union Congregational Church, 1141 Main St., Angels Camp, CA 95222.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at Union Congregational Church.

San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

James W. Rogers

Feb. 27, 1930 - Sept. 7, 2012

Mi-Wuk Village resident James W. Rogers died Sept. 7 at his home. He was 82.

Mr. Rogers was born in Bakersfield and raised in Watsonville.

He settled in Salinas with his family, where he worked as an electric line supervisor for PG&E for 35 years.

He retired to Mi-Wuk Village 25 years ago.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow skiing and was a former member of the Moose and Elk lodges.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Petri, in 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita Rogers, of Mi-Wuk Village; his son, Rodney Rogers, of Hollister; his brother, Gary Rogers, of Salina, Kan.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No services are planned.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

SEGERSTROM -Mary Etta Segerstrom, 92, of Sonora, died Thursday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
