Jerry Lee Arnold

Sonora resident Jerry Lee Arnold died Aug. 6 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 63.
Mr. Arnold was born in Dekalb, Ill. He moved to Sonora 23 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He was an American Legion life member. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Jamestown and the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed watching programs about the military and singing karaoke.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joan Arnold, of Sonora; his mother, Harriet Annette Royalty, of Dekalb, Ill.; his children, Jennifer Stone, of Jamestown, James Stone, of Sonora, Tony Stone, of Jamestown, and Tim Stone, of Modesto; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held privately.

Rosemary Ann 'Rose' (Malone) Campana

Sonora resident Rosemary Ann "Rose" (Malone) Campana died Thursday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 81.
Mrs. Campana was born in San Francisco.
She graduated from San Francisco State University and then taught elementary school for 20 years in the Pleasanton School District.
She also taught catechism and was a member of St. Augustine's Parish Council until her retirement to Sonora in 1996.
After retiring, she joined the Red Hat Society and St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Campana volunteered with the Crystal Falls Fire Auxiliary and Soulsbyville Elementary School. She enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Campana was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Malone, in 1954; her father, Joseph Patrick Malone, in 1992; and her sister, Patricia Bush, in 1994.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Peter Campana, of Sonora; her children, Lisa Garon, of Pleasanton, Teresa Campana, of Palenville, N.Y., Tina Wilbur, of Sonora, and Paul Campana, of Fremont; and grandchildren, Katie Garon, of London, England, Elisabeth Garon, of New Brunswick, N.J., Maria Wilbur, of Sonora, Cole Campana, of Fremont, and McKenzie Campana, of Menlo-Atherton.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a vigil following at 7 p.m. at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sonora.
An interment and memorial will be held at St. Augustine's Catholic Cemetery in Pleasanton at a later date.

Andy A. Salem Jr.

Arnold resident Andy A. Salem Jr. died June 9 at his home. He was 81.
Mr. Salem was born in New Haven, Conn., to parents who had immigrated from Italy.
His family moved to Southern California when he was 2.
In 1952 he married Anne Scearce and they moved to the San Fernando Valley, where they lived for many years. They moved to Pleasanton in 1975. They lived there until 2004, when they moved to Arnold.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and reading. He was a member of the Sons in Retirement and St. Augustine's Catholic Church, of Pleasanton.
Mr. Salem was preceded in death by sister, Annette Horkan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Salem, of Arnold; his children and their spouses, Steve and Sandy Salem, of Pleasanton, Vince and Moya Salem, of Livermore, and Lisa and Charlie Giolzetti, of Danville; his sisters, Jeanette Aldi and Clara Williams; his grandchildren, Jeff, Michelle, Kyle, Brianni and Brandon; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass was held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Pleasanton.

Kenneth L. Walter

Angels Camp resident Kenneth L. Walter died Thursday at home. He was 75.
Mr. Walter was born in Fresno to William and Leona Walter.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He moved to Angels Camp in 1969 for work as an estimator with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, where he worked for 29 years.
He was a member of the Angels Gun Club.
Mr. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Walter; his son, Greg Walter; his parents; sister, Myrna Barlow; brother, Bob Walter.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathryn Walter; of Angels Camp; granddaughter, Brooke Hines, of Angels Camp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Park at Highway 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi.
