Eustolia (Muraira) 'Estelle' Dominguez

Former Columbia resident Eustolia (Muraira) "Estelle" Dominguez died July 7 at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She was 89.
Mrs. Dominguez was born in Del Rio, Texas. She worked as a machine operator for the Beech-Nut candy company for 18 years until her retirement. After retirement, she and her husband, Edmundo, built a home and settled in Columbia.
They moved to San Jose in 2011 to live with their son, Elden.
Mrs. Dominguez was preceded in death by her siblings, Arturo Muraira, Oralia Jimenez, John Muraira, Delia Cervantez, Josefina Agredano, Federico Muraira and Alicia Molini.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Edmundo Gaitan Dominguez Sr., of Columbia; her sons, Edmundo Dominguez Jr., Eloy Dominguez and Elden Dominguez, all of San Jose, Ernest "Ernie" Dominguez, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Eric Dominguez, of Reno, Nev.; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Heuton Memorial Chapel. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow at Mountain Shadow Cemetery.

Twain Harte resident Laverne Kathleen (Norris) Reeves died June 29 at her home. She was 96.
Mrs. Reeves was born in West Chicago, Ill., to Ernest and Laura Norris. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1937 with credentials in English and physical education. She was vice president of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She worked as a teacher before becoming a housewife.
She joined the World War II effort as a link pilot trainer, where she met her future husband, Maj. James O. "Jim" Reeves. They moved from Redwood City to Twain Harte in 1979.
She enjoyed dancing, horseback riding, and See's Candy. She also earned a pilot's license and enjoyed flying.
Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her husband in 1997.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Allen and Christina Reeves, of Twain Harte, Cory Reeves, of San Diego, and Diane and Doug Simmons, of Twain Harte; her grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Reeves, Kelly Simmons, and his wife, Shannon, all of Gardnerville, Nev., Kristi and Jake Radetich, of Mi-Wuk Village, and Kody Simmons, of Twain Harte.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at San Joaquin National Military Cemetery in Gustine.

Mary Jane Ziegenhein

Sonora resident Mary Jane Ziegenhein died Wednesday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 84.
Mrs. Ziegenhein was born in Baltimore, Md., to Joseph Patrick McLaughlin and Sarah Elizabeth Madden.
She moved to California with her husband, Frank Ziegenhein, in 1956. They owned the Sonora Family Bowl for more than 30 years.
She was an artist and enjoyed painting and was a member of a local arts group. She was also a member of the Sonora Elks Lodge.
Mrs. Ziegenhein is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frank Ziegenhein; her son, Frank T. Ziegenhein and his wife, Sharon; her sister, Agnes Wildt; grandchildren, Kellee and Michael; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
