Richard Arnold Crosse Jr.

Dec. 3, 1954 - Nov. 1, 2011

Valley Springs resident Richard Arnold Crosse Jr. died Nov. 1 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Valley Springs. He was 56.

Born in Chicago to Richard and Adelle Crosse, he and his family moved to California when he was 4.

He met Jackie Leach in 1975 and the couple later married. They settled in Lodi where they raised their daughter, Michelle.

He worked as an installer for Robinson Installation in Lodi, did pest control for Terminex and later ZAP in Lodi, and was a truck driver for Redfearn Trucking in Stockton. For the past three years, he drove a truck for WinCo Foods in Modesto.

He enjoyed working in his yard, riding his motorcycle and maintaining his vehicles.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Crosse; daughter, Michelle Eymann; grandchildren, Taylor, Ricky, and Scotty Eymann; mother and her companion, Adelle Crosse and Bill Brown; sister and her husband, Faith and Ray Urpa; in-laws, Kristy and Wayne Tuell, Jeffrey and Lisa Leach, and David and Penny Robinson; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Crosse Sr.; and brother, John Crosse.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 221 S. Church Hill Road, San Andreas. It will be followed by a reception at the church.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.

San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

James 'Jim'

David Mullin

Aug. 5, 1942 - Oct. 31, 2011

Cold Springs resident James "Jim" David Mullin died Oct. 31 at his home. He was 69.

Born in Pasadena to Robert and Willie Mullin, he graduated from Glendora High School in 1960 and joined the U.S. Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was a drill sergeant.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University and later went to work for the U.S. Forest Service, first in Southern California before going to work in the Stanislaus National Forest.

He lived in Cold Springs for more than 30 years.

He was a docent at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.

He enjoyed square dancing, living in the mountains, hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking and skiing. He especially enjoyed playing cribbage.

Mr. Mullin is survived by his sisters, Joan Alispones, of Lebanon, Ohio, and Joan Drobina, of Sun City West, Ariz.; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Twain Harte Golf Course Clubhouse.
