Forest Meadows resident Staci Strahl died Oct. 27 at home. She was 49.
Born in Sacramento to Jarrold Haas and Gean McFadden, she was the school nurse at Bret Harte High School for nearly 10 years.
She enjoyed living in Calaveras County, traveling around the country with her family in their travel trailer and attending her children's sporting events and school activities.
Mrs. Strahl is survived by her husband of 27 years, Matthew Strahl, of Forest Meadows; children, Abigail and Quintessa Strahl, both of Forest Meadows; father, Jarrold Haas, of Mill Valley; brother, Steven Haas, of Mill Valley; stepfather, Michael McFadden, of Roseville; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gean McFadden.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Foothill Community Church in Angels Camp.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Sonora resident Shawn Anderson died Monday at Stanford University Hospital. She was 46.
Born in Los Gatos to John and Mae Wales, she lived in San Jose and graduated from Blackford High School.
She received two associate's degrees, one from Mission College in Santa Clara and the other from Columbia College.
She lived in Sonora for about 12 years. She enjoyed cross-stiching, gardening and home decorating.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Anderson, of Sonora; mother, Mae Wales, of Sonora; siblings and her spouses, Mark and Marilyn Wales, of Portland, Ore., Scott and Sally Wales, of Sonora, Jay and Dinize Wales, of San Jose, Guy Dumas, of Nevada City, David and Dede Dumas, of Tuolumne, Gary and Millie Anderson and Mark and Georgia Parker, all of Las Vegas, Daniel and Sara Anderson, of Fremont, and Vernon Anderson, of Santa Clara; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Wales.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall in Tuolumne.

Mary Alonzo Sharp

Sonora resident Mary Alonzo Sharp Richardson died Oct. 31 at Avalon Care Center in Sonora. She was 95.
Born in North Little Rock, Ark., to Baxter and Inger Sharp, she worked as a secretary and homemaker for most of her life and raised three daughters.
She lived in Livermore for 28 years and moved to Sonora Hills after her husband, Fred, died. She lived in Sonora for 18 years.
She enjoyed going to church, traveling, singing in the Sonora Hills Chorus, and taking care of her cat named Mouse.
She moved to Skyline Place Assisted Living in 2010 and Avalon Care Center in 2011.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her children, Karen Olmstead, of Days Creek, Ore., Meredith Richardson, of Empire, and Jane and husband Charles Bennett, of Sonora; grandchildren, Martha Olmstead, of Wilsonville, Ore., and Michael and wife Valerie Olmstead, of Yerington, Nev.; and siblings, Jane Zanutto, of Modesto, and Edwin and wife Shirley Sharp, of Ripon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Richardson, and brother, Samuel Sharp.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Ripon Cemetery, 102 S. Stockton St., Ripon.

Bette L. Thomas

Sonora resident Bette L. Thomas died Oct. 19 at the University of California, San Francisco, Hospital. She was 91.
Born in Chicago to John Brennan and Teresa Speer, she moved to California in 1937 and to Twain Harte in 1982. She moved to Skyline Place Assisted Living in 2007.
She was a longtime volunteer for Soroptimist International of Twain Harte and received the Soroptimist of the Year award in 1999.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judi Winters, of San Francisco; daughter, Bette Dale Miner, of Fort Bragg; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her husband, Larry Thomas; and daughter, Mary Ann Miner.
A service may be scheduled for a later date.
