Bobby E. Wilson

Jamestown resident Bobby E. Wilson died Jan. 25 at a Sonora hospital. He was 65.

Mr. Wilson was born in Antioch and lived in Jamestown for 10 years. He was a restaurant cook for 40 years. He enjoyed fixing cars and fishing. His wife said he loved life and was a very loving person.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Carla Wilson of Jamestown; his mother, Viola Reno of Sonora; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Mary Wilson of Sonora; stepsons and their spouses, Robbie and Michelle Ledward of Boise, Idaho, Kimo and Joy Ledward of Sacramento, Alika and Kelly Ledward of Idaho, and Duane Ledward and his partner, Josh Dale, of San Francisco; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No services will be held.

Donations may be made to a local cancer society.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Sharon Rae (Sailer) Zabaldo

Angels Camp resident Sharon Rae (Sailer) Zabaldo died Jan. 29 at a San Andreas hospital. She was 74.

Mrs. Zabaldo was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. In 1955 she graduated from Francis Payne Bolton School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a supervising registered nurse for 40 years and was a key figure in the construction of the first intensive care unit at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo. She loved taking care of others, quilting and stenciling. Mrs. Zabaldo lived in Valley Springs for seven years before moving to Angels Camp where she lived for the past six years.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Zabaldo of Angels Camp; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Anne Zabaldo of Stockton; daughter Kara Cunningham of Jackson; and grandsons, Jesse and Daniel of Jackson.

Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at Angels Memorial Chapel followed by a service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys.

Carl Alfred Lindheimer

Aug. 3, 1918 Jan. 25, 2008

Columbia resident Carl Alfred Lindheimer died Jan. 25 at a Sonora hospital. He was 89.

Mr. Lindheimer was born and raised in Woodland. He retired to Columbia in 1978. He was a sales manager for Beatrice Foods for 40 years. While living in the Woodland area, he was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1597 and Sons In Retirement No. 136. Mr. Lindheimer served in the Army during World War II. He served in Europe with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion and was in the Normandy, Rhineland and Ardennes campaigns. He was a member of the squad that captured Hitler's Eagle's Nest.

He enjoyed fishing, cooking and volunteering. He started, organized and drove for many years the Dial-A-Ride bus in the county.

Mr. Lindheimer was preceded in death by his wife, Norval Lindheimer in 2001.

He is survived by his son, Gary Lindheimer of Washington State; daughter Judy Woods and her husband, Joe, of Lawton, Okla.; stepson James Jacobs and his wife, Kathy, of Santa Cruz; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 6 at the Woodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Kirby Sober

March 10, 1934 Jan. 28, 2008

Longtime Sonora resident Kirby Sober died Jan. 28 at his home. He was 73.

Mr. Sober was born in Ponca City, Okla. He retired from Western Electric and was an electrician for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, flying gliders, building and working around the house. He also served in the military. He lived in Sonora for 25 years.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Rowney of Sonora; children, Jack N. Sober, Lauralee Ensign, Stacey D. Deen, Jeannette L. Sober-Sutton, Kirby N. Sober and Laura L. Buchcanon; and 17 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.

ROMERO Jean Romero, 90, of Sonora died Jan. 30 at a Sonora care home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
