Norman Charles Ainsworth

Norman Charles Ainsworth died Thursday at his Arnold home. He was 73.

Mr. Ainsworth was born in Nevada.

He was a building contractor for 50 years and lived in Arnold for the past 33 years.

He is survived by two sons, David Ainsworth of Livermore and Colin Francis Brydone-Jack of Arnold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Bill Adamo of Martinez and Ilene and Lloyd Owen of Harrison, Ark; nine grandchildren, Heather Smith, Joe Ainsworth, Nichole Ainsworth, Georgia Ainsworth, Kelly Owen, Brooke Owen, Katrina Adamo, Hunter Ainsworth and Rylee Ainsworth; one great-grandchild, Caleb Watson; and one sister, Barbra Gaskill.

Donations in Mr. Ainsworth's memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, N.Y. 10163.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Adele Holland

Jan. 12, 1933 Feb. 20, 2007

Adele Holland of Columbia died Tuesday at a Sonora hospital surrounded by family. She was 74.

She was born Jan. 12, 1933, to Adele and John Hangartner in Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Hangartner died at 99 years old on the same date that Mrs. Holland died.

Mrs. Holland grew up in Southern California and met her husband of 55 years, John Holland, at Hoover High School in Glendale in 1947.

They lived in Columbia for the past 15 years.

Her husband said Mrs. Holland's first interest was her family, as evidenced by many family pictures displayed throughout her home. Other interests included playing cards and knitting.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Holland is survived by two sons, John W. Holland of Las Vegas and Danny L. Holland of Irvine; a daughter, Julie Ann Moss of Valencia; daughters-in-law, De Holland and Janel Holland; son-in-law, Dave Moss; and seven grandchildren, Nicole, Jake, Nick, Mark, Jenna, Tallia and Natalie.

A family memorial combined with the spreading of her ashes will take place at a later date.

Heuton Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.

Claire Marie Delaney

March 6, 1917 Feb. 17, 2007

Claire Marie Delaney died Feb. 17 at her Sonora home surrounded by her family. She was 89.

Mrs. Delaney retired from Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City after 40 years as a registered nurse. She lived in Sonora for 17 years.

Her interests included golf and playing the piano. She was a member of the Sonora Hills Homeowners board of directors and social club. As a health representative for Sonora Hills, she helped arrange flu shots at and was active in the Vial for Life program.

She also collected food from Sonora Hills residents for Interfaith Community Social Services during the Halloween season.

Mrs. Delaney is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Delaney Jr. of Mission Viejo; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Tim Mullen of Sonora; five grandchildren, Kathryn Muniz and Sandra Nugent of San Jose, Kristen Delaney of San Diego, Matthew Delaney of Arizona, and Lindsey Delaney of San Diego; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, David L. Delaney.

A memorial Mass will be held at noon Saturday, March 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sonora.

Alice Martinez Cadena

April 27, 1931 Feb. 18, 2007

Former Tuolumne County resident Alice Martinez Cadena died Feb. 18 at a Sacramento hospital. She was 75.

She was raised in Standard and lived there for several years as an adult before moving to San Francisco. She lived in Sacramento for the past 35 years.

Her interests included her family, crocheting, embroidery and cats and dogs.

Mrs. Cadena is survived by a son, Ernie Cadena of Sacramento; a daughter, Gloria Cadena of Antioch; grandchildren, Arsenio Moreno, Tony Cadena Jr., Daniel Cadena Jr. and Alysia Cadena; five great-grandchildren; her brothers, Tony Martinez of Angels Camp and Robert, Manuel and Leo Martinez of Arizona; and a sister, Julia Martinez of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cadena, and two sons, Tony and Daniel Cadena.

Services were held at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, and burial was at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Sonora.
