Buster Hipp

Feb. 2, 1923-May 31, 2004

Longtime Chinese Camp resident Buster Hipp died Monday in his home. He was 81.

Mr. Hipp was born in McCuary, Ark., and moved to Chinese Camp in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Operating Engineers for 51 years and a former member of both the Mother Lode Gun Club and Manteca Bass & Buddies. He worked as a heavy equipment operator doing road construction.

His family said he was an avid outdoorsman and baseball fan.

Mr. Hipp is survived by his wife of 60 years, Zelma Hipp of Chinese Camp; and a son, Lonnie Hipp of Chinese Camp.

Funeral services were to be held at noon today at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.


(Jose) Giorgi

Sept. 4, 1930-May 31, 2004

Sonora native Janet (Jose) Giorgi died Monday at a Lodi convalescent hospital after a long battle with diabetes. She was 73.

Mrs. Giorgi was born in Sonora and attended Sonora Grammar School. She graduated from Sonora High School and later from Modesto Junior College, where she received an associate of arts degree.

She was primarily a homemaker but also worked for PG&E and Reynolds Nailing, both in Lodi. She was a longtime resident of Lodi.

Mrs. Giorgi is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Michael Quaschnick of Lodi; a son, Bob Giorgi of Stockton; a cousin, Ken Bisordi of Sonora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Giorgi, in 1999.

Funeral services have been held. Burial was at the Galt-Arno Cemetery.

Gierhart-Wells and Donahue Funeral Home in Lodi handled arrangements.

Randolph Dunn

April 2, 1951-May 26,2004

John Randolph Dunn, 53, died Wednesday, May 26, of natural causes at his Sonora home.

Mr. Dunn was born in Hayward and lived in Sonora for 13 years.

He was a musician who studied at the Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael. Mr. Dunn took two trips to Calcutta and Bombay, India, spending nearly four years there. Growing up he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Golden Arrow. He was a volunteer at Interfaith and attended Tuolumne General Adult Day Health Care.

Dunn is survived by his sister Georgia Erickson, 55, of Tucson, Ariz.; his nephew, Michael Dunn, 37, of Stockton; and his half-brother, Robert Dunn, 71, of Fallbrook.

Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home is handling the cremation. No services are planned.


MEDINA Raymond Medina, 61, died Thursday at his home in Twain Harte. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
