Elizabeth Lawrence

July 14, 1946 - May 31, 2004

Longtime San Andreas resident Margaret Elizabeth Lawrence died Monday at her home after a long illness. She was 57.

She was born in New York and lived in San Andreas for 20 years.

She worked as a certified nursing assistant for Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital in San Andreas.

She served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 2600 in San Andreas.

She is survived by her children, Russel Perschnick of Stockton and Christopher Perschnick of Lubbock, Texas; brothers, Louis Lawrence of Florida and Christopher Lawrence of New Hampton, N.H.; and sisters, Alicia Lawrence and Andria Schwieter, both of New York, and Maria O'Neal and Lorreta Bohannon, both of Georgia.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. tomorrow at San Andreas Memorial Chapel.

Allan Craddock

Nov. 15, 1926 - May 29, 2004

Longtime Sonora resident John Allan Craddock died Saturday at his home. He was 77.

He was born in San Francisco and lived in Sonora for 30 years.

He worked as a building inspector for Tuolumne County for 10 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Family members said they were the center of his life.

Mr. Craddock is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth; his children and their spouses, Jill Morgan, John J. Craddock, Gregory and Cindy Craddock and Heidi and Rick LeBaudour; grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Morgan, Jeremy and Fatima Craddock, Jacob Morgan and Deanna Cordano Morgan, Meghan LeBaudour, Kathryn LeBaudour, Jonah and Melissa Craddock, Nicholas LeBaudour and Andrew Morgan; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370.

Edward 'Eddie' Thomas Gomez

June 10, 1952 - May 28, 2004

Edward "Eddie" Thomas Gomez of Sonora died Friday at a Sonora hospital of natural causes. He was 51.

He was born in Oakland and lived in Sonora for 13 years.

He started working at age 16 unloading trucks at a produce market in Oakland and worked as a teamster for 35 years.

He graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1970 and had earned a black belt in karate.

His family said he enjoyed fishing and loved music, dancing and baseball. He had a big heart and loved people, his family added.

Mr. Gomez is survived by his parents, Genero "Jay" and Josephine "Jo" Gomez of Sonora; brothers, David Anthony Gomez of Oakland and Richard Gomez of Alameda; a son, Rudy Gomez of Washington; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two nephews, Anthony Gomez of Fresno and Mario Gomez of Mesquite, Nev., and many friends, including his good friend, Chris, of Tuolumne.

Private family services are scheduled.

CARTER A memorial service for Velma Ruth Carter, 83, a former Sonora resident who died April 29, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sonora Moose Lodge. Smith Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Fallon handled arrangements.

LINTT Mary Geraldine Lintt, 84, a Tuolumne County native, died Monday at a Redwood City hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home's Tuolumne Chapel. Burial is scheduled at Carters Cemetery.
