Hubert "Bert" Haury Jr. of Greeley Hill died Tuesday at his home. He was 76.

He was born in Visalia and lived in Greeley Hill for 14 years.

He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Atwater for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years. He was a member of the Winton Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Letter Carrier's Union. He also was a member of the Greeley Hill Baptist Church.

His family said he lived for Christ and loved gardening, woodworking, RV travel and fishing.

Mr. Haury is survived by his wife, Sharon Haury of Greeley Hill; three daughters, Sheryle Pimentel of Visalia, Kathy Haury of Arroyo Grande and Dana Hinojosa of Merced; two sons, Sharidan Wilson of Green River, Wyo., and Christopher Wilson of Atwater; a sister, June Anderson of Albany, Ore.; three brothers, Donald Haury of Veneta, Ore., Ronald Haury of Hugo, Okla., and David Haury of Hilliard, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Greeley Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be at Dudley Hill Cemetery in Greeley Hill. A celebration of life will follow the burial.

Juanita June Winslow

Juanita June Winslow of Valley Springs died Friday at her home. She was 78.

She was born in Taft and lived in Valley Springs for four years. She was a high school graduate and worked as a bookkeeper.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Blankenship of Valley Springs; a son, Mark Winslow of Wildomar; two brothers Roland Hickerson of Atascadero and Lawrence Hickerson of Bakersfield; and four grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Susanville.

San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Charles W. Moehring

Charles William Moehring of Twain Harte died July 27 at a Riverbank nursing center. He was 74.

He was a native of Stanford, Conn., and lived in Twain Harte for three years. He was a control systems engineer for the Bechtel Corporation for 27 years.

He served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps and belonged to the Licensed Professional Engineers.

Mr. Moehring is survived by his wife, Barbara D. Moehring of Twain Harte; a son, Jason Moehring of Napa; a sister, Catherine Barnes of Virginia; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ted Moehring.

Private services were held.

Oakdale Memorial Chapel in Oakdale handled arrangements.

Marie Genevieve 'Mayme' (Filiberti) Panero

Lifelong Tuolumne County resident Marie Genevieve "Mayme" (Filiberti) Panero died Saturday at a Templeton care home. She was 89.

She was born in Columbia and lived in Tuolumne County all her life until the last two years, when she lived in Atascadero and Templeton.

She attended the red school house in Columbia all through elementary school and graduated in 1927. She graduated from Sonora High School in 1931.

She married Jim Panero in 1934, after they met at an open-air dance in Columbia. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sonora Emblem Club in 1943 and charter member of the Figli de Italia. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She and her husband, Jim, received the House of the Year award for their yard and rose garden in the 1980s. They moved into their home in 1951.

Her family said she enjoyed being a grandparent and a great-grandparent.

She is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Arleen Farley of Atascadero and Kathy and Guy Holmes of Sonora; five grandchildren, Jamie Eger, and her husband, Rick, of Modesto, Don Farley of Santa Maria, Jodi Ditler, and husband, Robert, of Sonora, Cindy Elliott, and her husband, Ken, of Templeton, and Jana Gregory, and her husband, Derek,of Sonora; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Ditler of Sonora, Ryan, Ashley and Amber Elliott of Templeton, Christopher and Carlie Eger of Modesto and Devin and Christian Farley; a brother-in-law, Andy Panero of Oakdale; a sister-in-law Mildred Filiberti of Sonora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim "Pan" Panero; a brother, Victor Filiberti; a sister, Angelina "Angie" Pedro; a son-in-law, Gary Farley; and her parents, Victorio Filiberti and Julia Queriolo Filiberti.

Visitation is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. tomorrow at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. A chapel service is scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

HARRIS Robert D. Harris, 88, a former resident of Arnold, died July 26 at a Riverbank care home. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Clare of Assisi Episcopal Church, Highway 4, Avery. The Neptune Society is handling arrangements.
