Luel A. Marshall

Longtime La Grange resident Luel A. Marshall died Tuesday at a Modesto hospital. He was 83.

He was born in Huntington, Utah, and lived in La Grange for nearly 20 years. In 1929, he moved with his family to Palo Alto.

In 1947, after serving in World War II, he married Marjorie Gottfredson. They raised their family in Concord. He was an architect by trade.

After his wife died, he married Luvenia Irwin Anderson. They retired to Tuolumne County.

His family said he was a gentle man who loved flowers, birds, camping, traveling, airplanes and going to the beach.

Mr. Marshall is survived by his six children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A viewing is scheduled at noon tomorrow at Redwood Chapel at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette. A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow at the park.

Oakmont Memorial Park and Mortuary is handling arrangements.
