Catherine May Dahlin

Catherine May Dahlin of Sonora died Friday at a care home in Sonora. She was 87.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., and lived in Saratoga for 35 years before moving to Sonora two years ago. She was a homemaker.

Dahlin loved her family and enjoyed baby-sitting for her grandchildren, her family said. Her hobbies were cooking, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and James Reed of Sonora and Beverly and James Lundgren of La Habra; four grandchildren, Tiffany Boyd and Jason Reed, both of San Jose, Kristen Rimmer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Lance Lundgren of La Habra; a 100-year-old aunt, Emmy Dahlin of Hartford, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bates of Fort Myers, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, including Bruce Dahlin of Iowa, David Starr of Connecticut and Barbara Starr of North Carolina; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Starr, a grandson, Matthew Lundgren, and by her husband, Jarl Bertil Siguard "Duke" Dahlin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Judith Ellen McCoy

Judith Ellen McCoy of Sonora died Thursday at a Sonora hospital after a long illness. She was 55.

She was born in Tracy and lived in Sonora for 11 years. She worked as a flower shop manager and a florist for most of her life.

McCoy is survived by her son, Mike McCoy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Tami Marquis of Camas, Wash., and Staci Quartararo of Sonora; mother, Martha Charotte of Sonora; brothers, Ernie Charotte of Sonora and Stanley Charotte Jr. of Modesto; a sister, Jayne Winn of Cle Elum, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Charotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heuton Memorial Chapel in Sonora.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4225 North Gate Blvd., Suite 4, Sacramento, CA 95834.

Charlotte Yvonne Garrison

Charlotte Yvonne Garrison, a longtime Mountain Ranch resident, died Friday, June 13, of an illness at her son's residence in San Andreas. She was 52.

She was born in California and worked as a bartender. She was a volunteer for the Jenny Lind Fire Department.

She is survived by her sons, Smokey Roberts of San Andreas, Dusty Roberts of Washington and Larry Roberts of Mountain Ranch; a daughter, Lauretta Ahern of San Andreas; a brother, Jack McGregor of Stockton; two sisters, Vicki Rodinsky of Angels Camp and Charlotte Simmons of Mountain Ranch; a stepfather, Larry McGregor; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mari McGregor, father, Bill Garrison, and a brother, Butch Garrison.

Services have been held.

Hal A. Lohmann

May 27, 1928 June 20, 2003

Former Sonora resident Hal A. Lohmann of Modesto died Friday at a Modesto hospital. He was 75.

Mr. Lohmann served in the Army during World War II and received the Victory Medal. He worked as a sales manager before his retirement.

He enjoyed golf and computers, and was active in the Sierra Pines Men's Club.

Mr. Lohmann is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marcia M. Lohmann of Modesto; a sister, Eva Marie Dodd of Oakland; a brother, Herb Lohmann of Oroville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Vicki Lohmann of Brentwood, James Lohmann, and his fiancee, Tracey Fontana, of Marietta, Ga., Thomas Lohmann, and his fiancee, Lisa Steele of Patterson, and Timothy and Julie Lohmann of Leominster, Mass.; a daughter, Debra Lohmann of Manteca; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was to be held today.
