Kenneth Lanceford Morgan of Murphys died suddenly Saturday. He was 40.

He was born in National City, San Diego County, and lived in Murphys and Arnold for 12 years. He was a construction worker. He loved fishing and many outdoor activities, including construction and landscaping, his family said.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his father, Kirby Morgan of Coarsegold; three daughters, Sandra L. Morgan of Oroville and Kelsey L. Morgan and Lisa M. Morgan, both of Angels Camp; three sisters, Merrie Stevens of Ridgecrest, Martie Morgan of Bakersfield and Melva Jenkins of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Beth Morgan.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Edythe Wakeland

Edythe Wakeland died Saturday at her residence in Angels Camp. She was 95.

She was born in Simmons, Ky. She lived in Angels Camp for two years. She was a previous resident of Lafayette, in Contra Costa County, from 1950-2001. She was a homemaker.

She and her husband, Weldon, were lifelong Baptists. They were founders of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lafayette.

Mrs. Wakeland is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Don Drollmon of Angels Camp; a son and daughter-in-law, Bud and Nancy Wakeland of El Sobrante; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Weldon Wakeland Sr.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 3201 Stanley Blvd., Lafayette. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Beaver Dam, Ky.

Rhonda Lyn Patton of Angels Camp died suddenly Thursday, May 29. She was 34.

She lived in Angels Camp for 21 years and previously had lived in Stockton.

She worked as a grocery clerk at Angels Food Market in Angels Camp.

She is survived by her daughters Kristen, Jamie and Kaycee Patton, all of Angels Camp; a brother, Daniel Maxwell of Humboldt; two sisters, Kayla Maxwell of Sonoma and Tanya Denny of Angels Camp; her mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Charles Marion of Turlock; and her father, Joseph Maxwell of Reno, Nev.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a trust fund for the children of Rhonda Patton, in care of Central Sierra Bank, Angels Camp Branch, P.O. Box 1269, Angels Camp, CA 95222.
