Helen Maxine Mellberg, 77, of Arnold died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Mellberg was born in Oakland and had lived in Arnold for the past 17 years.
She worked as a jewelry saleswoman until she retired and was a member of the Meadowmont Niners Golf Club in Arnold.
Mrs. Mellberg is survived by her husband, Bert E. Mellberg of Arnold; a son, Ken Mellberg of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; a daughter, Lonnie Engelhardt of Placerville; and five grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Sam Hale, 87, of Coulterville died Wednesday at a Modesto hospital.
Mr. Hale was born in Oklahoma and had lived in Coulterville for the past 23 years.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Langworthy Paving for the past 50 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 3.
Mr. Hale is survived by a son, William Hale of Fresno; a grandson, Marty Hale of San Francisco; a granddaughter, Tammy Hale of Madera; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was to be held at 1 p.m. today at Wildwood Chapel, Greeley Hill, with burial at Dudley Hill Cemetery, Greeley Hill. Heuton Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
Albert Henry 'Bert' Heppes

Albert Henry "Bert" Heppes, 80, of Jamestown died Friday at a Manteca hospital.
Mr. Heppes was born in Metropolis, Ill., and had lived in Salinas for 25 years before moving to Tuolumne County 18 years ago. He had lived in Sugar Pine for 13 years, before moving to Jamestown, where he lived for the past five years.
He was an insurance broker for 25 years and owned Jaenicke-Heppes Insurance Company in Salinas.
He was an active member of St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church in East Sonora before he became ill.
He enjoyed golf and traveling.
Mr. Heppes is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruth Heppes, of Jamestown; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cleo Heppes of San Jose; three stepsons, Lance Stevens of Marina, Monterey County, Brett Heppes and his wife, Linda, of San Jose and Chet Stevens of San Jose; a stepdaughter and her husband, Judi and Al Kelly of Sacramento; a brother, Roger Heppes of Virginia; four grandchildren, Serina and Shelby Heppes of San Jose, Tiffanie Dillard of Phoenix, Ariz. and John Kuhl of Sonora; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, 19632 Highway 108, East Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
