Two people were injured in a three-car accident Wednesday afternoon on Tuolumne Road - one of several wrecks between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Tuolumne County roads.
The Tuolumne Road wreck occurred about 3:30 p.m., just west of Morris Road.
According to California Highway Patrol officers at the scene, a Suzuki Samurai stopped to make a left turn into a driveway on Tuolumne Road when a Chevy Colorado pickup, going about 50 mph, rear-ended the Suzuki and pushed it into an oncoming Kia SUV.
The driver of the Suzuki, whose name was unavailable, suffered serious head injuries and was flown by helicopter to Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was later transferred to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, according to CHP officer Nick Norton.
A second person, a passenger in the Chevy, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional. No other injuries were reported in that accident.
Both lanes of Tuolumne Road were temporarily closed.
Another accident at 1 p.m. Wednesday also involved three cars and occurred on Highway 49 in Sonora, just past the Arco gas station, according to CHP spokesman Jaime Pullen. One injury was reported.
A third accident was a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck reported at 12:49 p.m. on Highway 108 near Old Strawberry Road, Pullen said. The driver of the motorcycle was flown by helicopter to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. No other details were available.
Other accidents included:

• Tuolumne Road at Eagle Ridge Road, Sonora area, no injuries;
• Highway 108 at Fifth Avenue in Jamestown, no injuries;
• Campo Seco Road at Seco Street in Jamestown, one injury;
• Exact location unavailable, Twain Harte, one injury.
