Body of missing woman found

A missing Southern California woman was found dead Thursday morning near Columbia, four days after she was reported missing.

The body of Kathy Njirich Fiore, 63, was found in a remote canyon area near the 22000 block of Sawmill Flat Road home from which she disappeared, according to a statement released by Lisa Verbeck Wooldridge, Fiore's daughter.

Foul play is not suspected, but the cause of death had not been determined, according to Tuolumne County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Johnson.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home of Sonora, and services are being planned.

Fiore is survived by a daughter, Lisa Verbeck Wooldridge; a brother, James Njirich, of Sonora; and two sisters, Laura Renau and Betty Boone, all of Sonora; and grandson, Evan Wooldridge, of Southern California.
