The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


7:22 a.m., patrol activity - A diesel truck with loud exhaust drives on Lyons Bald Mountain Road every morning.

8:42 a.m., child abuse - A grandfather on Old Wards Ferry Road spanked his grandson on the "buttocks."

2:21 p.m., disorderly conduct - A grandma on Greenley Road said her 24-year-old grandson threw things and yelled profanities.

9:01 p.m., reckless driving - People at a Sanguinetti Road parking lot played tug-of-war in their trucks.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


11:09 a.m., Jamestown - A man on a bicycle on Eighth Street swerved into the street lanes because he was tired from riding his bike "all day."

3:06 p.m., Sonora area - A child on Fairview Lane burned his arm on a BBQ.

5:42 p.m., Sonora area - A woman on Sirus Mine Lane believed someone picked fruit from a tree in her yard.

6:17 p.m., Jamestown - A man on Tulloch Dam Road accidentally drove into a gate.

6:48 p.m., Sonora area - A woman on Olds Wards Ferry Road said she could not stand the heat.

8:39 p.m., Columbia - A man on Parrotts Ferry Road screamed at someone who trimmed a woman's bushes.

8:57 p.m., Sonora area - A woman on Conklin Trail said someone else had a "personal" video she sent to her boyfriend.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


2:29 p.m., Sonora - Patrick Hofmann, 39, of the 31800 block of Highway 108, Strawberry, was booked after an arrest on the 300 block of South Washington Street.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


11:36 a.m., Burson - Someone on Highway 12 shot a nursery window with a BB gun.

12:35 p.m., San Andreas - Someone on Howell Road stole recycle materials.

2:01 p.m., San Andreas - A child on Wimbledon Drive called 911 and said "I called someone!"

11:03 p.m., San Andreas - A man on Gold Oak Road accidentally shot himself in the hand.
