The Angels Camp City Council will vote at its Tuesday night meeting whether to continue charging a nearly $300 fee to Greenhorn Creek residents to maintain the subdivision's landscaping and lighting.
Each year, a consultant assesses the maintenance needs of the city's Landscaping and Lighting District within Greenhorn Creek and comes up with a budget that is then divided as a tax to each property owner. This year's proposed assessment is $297.19.
Greenhorn Creek's golf course and time share units pay additional funds, said Jack Lynch, the city's vice mayor and a Greenhorn resident.
The total projected maintenance cost for the year is $164,932, according to an Fairfield-based engineer's report.
The lighting aspect includes the cost of power and maintaining 34 street lights, while the landscaping component is divided into formal landscape areas along with native terrain, or wildlife areas.
