Hundreds of thousands of dollars and almost 200 livestock animals changed hands over the weekend during the Mother Lode Fair's junior livestock, small livestock and benefit auctions.
The annual auctions featured livestock from local students, most of whom raised the animals through FFA and 4-H clubs.
According to fair organizers, more than $252,900 in cattle, hog and sheep sales took place Saturday evening during the junior livestock event, while participants sold $18,920 worth of goats, chickens, turkeys and rabbits Sunday for the small-animal auction.
The regular benefit auction raised more than $7,000, with the proceeds of that event going to the Tuolumne County Small Livestock Exhibitors' Association.
