Highway 108 lanes open after fire

UPDATE: Two of the three westbound lanes of the Highway 108 bypass behind the Crossroads shopping center are back open after being shut down due to at a fire at a transient camp off Highway 108, according to California Highway Patrol officer Nick Norton.

The fire was reported about noon. It is not related to a fire burning at SPI.

Sonora Police Investigator Jerry McCaig and Officer Chris Rogers were at the scene investigating the origin of the fire.

McCaig declined to comment citing Sonora police policy.
