As of 6 p.m. a vegetation fire south of San Andreas has burned 120 acres and was 45 percent contained.

Forward progress of the fire has been stopped.

Two buildings -barns or outbuildings - have burned.

Dozens of homes have been evacuated due to the fire, which started off George Reed Drive near Pool Station Road, according to Cal Fire spokeswoman Lisa Williams.

Traffic on Highway 49, closed earlier, is now moving. One lane of traffic has reopened, Williams said.

The fire was reported about 4 p.m. The cause is undetermined.
