SUV fire on Highway 4

No one injuries are reported this afternoon after a sport utility vehicle was destroyed in a fire on Highway 4.

According to the California Highway Patrol, traffic was temporarily stopped on Highway 4 near Copperopolis after the vehicle fire was reported at approximately 12:50 p.m. The vehicle was a Cheverolet Suburban with five passengers pulling a boat, according to reports from the CHP.

All of the passengers made it out of the vehicle before the fire destroyed the SUV and damaged the trailer and boat.

Crews and air support with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection were sent sent to the scene, as well.
