A Sonora foster parent was convicted after a six-day Tuolumne County Superior Court trial this week of molesting his foster child.

Teddy Ray Beach, 48, was free to return home on electronic monitoring after a jury declared him guilty on one count of felony molestation Monday. After reviewing the case and Beach, the Tuolumne County Probation Department will make a report and recommendation for prison time at his sentencing hearing on June 6.

Deputy District Attorney Eric Hovatter said Beach faces six to 16 years in state prison.

The victim, referred to as John Doe, a male, had been in the Beach home from December 1999 to November 2000. He was 12 at the time and was continuously molested by Beach over that period.

The victim reported the incidents last July to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office, and an investigation ensued.
