Cops: No news on Roberts slaying

Union Democrat staff /

Sonora police are saying little about the progress of the investigation into the murder of Rick Roberts, found shot to death in February at his shop on Mono Way.

Meanwhile, Roberts' widow, Teddi Roberts, in an interview last week said the unanswered questions about her husband's murder make it difficult for her and her son to have much needed closure.

"I just want whoever did this caught. They are out walking free and I live in a prison."

Sonora Police Chief Mark Stinson has provided little information about the investigation or what it's yielded.

The day after the slaying, police said Roberts was shot between 7:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, inside his auto shop on Mono Way.
