The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team and other agencies have so far been unable to locate a person who dove into the inlet above Pinecrest Lake this weekend and never resurfaced.

A 26-year-old man, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, dove into the water at Cleo's Bath about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

He was with friends who did not see him resurface and called the Sheriff's Office.

The Search and Rescue team arrived by 2:50 p.m. with a helicopter, according to Sgt. Scott Johnson, sheriff's office spokesman.

The SAR team, Tuolumne County Fire Department, and U.S. Forest Service conducted a search, but did not find him.

The man, whose named is not being released, is not local and is stationed out of Travis Air Force Base in Solano County.
