CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

11:50 a.m., Copperopolis - A "large boom" sound was reported on Quill Road.

12:07 p.m., Copperopolis - Someone on Iroquois Court said they heard a boom sound and it shook their house.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

10:31 a.m., suspicious circumstances - A man was outside a Sanguinetti Road business holding a sign asking for a ride to jail.

1:26 p.m., theft - Someone called 911 and told police they saw a woman with brown "poofy" hair and a man with a swastika tattoo steal a box of Gatorade from a grocery store on Mono Way.

4:24 p.m., assault - Track team students running on Dragon Gulch Trail on Alpine Lane saw an older man punch a woman in the face. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the descriptions.

5:51 p.m., vandalism - The door to a South Washington Street business was glued shut.

8:27 p.m., assault - A woman on Snell Street called 911 and said her husband had been hit in the head and knocked down. She did not know how it happened and declined medical treatment.

WEDNESDAY

2:16 a.m., public peace - People were arguing for about nine hours on Columbia Way. They were admonished by officers.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

9:46 a.m., Sonora area - A married couple bought a foreclosed home on Whitto Mine Road at an auction. The previous homeowner who lost the house claimed he had "squatters rights" and refused to leave.

10:18 a.m., Twain Harte - A man on Fuller Road transferred $500 to a bank account for a vehicle purchase. When he went to collect the vehicle, he was given the address of a vacant Porterville home.

10:27 a.m., Jamestown - Students consumed alcohol at Jamestown School.

11:27 a.m., Tuolumne area - A woman said her husband found a "6x6x6" hole on a property near a creek in Tuolumne. She did not know who the property belonged to, but she did not like the "fact that the hole was there."

12:54 p.m., Twain Harte - A man could not find his Jeep, which he said was parked at the end of a dead-end street.

1:35 p.m., Twain Harte - A student was suspended three times for three separate incidents of stealing items from a school classroom. At the request of the mother, deputies "lectured" the child about theft.

5:51 p.m., Columbia - A Gunsight Road man said his neighbor was outside screaming his name. He told deputies it was an "ongoing problem."

6:54 p.m., East Sonora - The California Highway Patrol asked to have safety glass in the road swept up at the county road department's convenience.

WEDNESDAY

2:14 a.m., Sonora area - An "intoxicated and uncooperative" man said he was thrown out of a vehicle on Black Oak Road. He was transported to a Sonora hospital and told deputies that he did not want to press charges and he "just wanted to go back home to Los Angeles."

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

3:27 p.m., Sonora area - Kimberly Lea Coppler, 56, of the 17000 block of East Brookside Drive, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, after an arrest at her home.

3:27 p.m., Sonora area - Linda Rae Norman, 63, of the 17000 block of East Brookside Drive, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, after an arrest at her home.
