Big rig, phone pole wreck closes road

Union Democrat staff /

The intersection at Highway 49 and Fraguero Road is currently closed as crews clean up a motor vehicle accident involving a big rig and a telephone pole.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. with no injuries reported. The truck reportedly jack knifed and hit a pole at the intersection, according to CHP collision information.

Because the wreck involves power lines, PG&E will have to de-energize the lines before the vehicle can move. According to the CHP, the intersection could be closed for at least four hours.
