Bret Harte High locked down

Austen Thibault, The Union Democrat /

The Bret Harte High School campus is on lockdown for a person reported with a gun.

Angels Camp Police Chief Todd Fordahl said officers are sweeping the campus for someone with a firearm and it is not part of the Every 15 Minutes program - an annual mock DUI accident intended to shake up students.

The campus just an hour earlier was participating in the Every 15 Minutes program with a fake car accident and arrest due to students driving drunk.

Students are now corralled on the campus tennis courts while officers search the campus with weapons drawn.
