The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


1:46 p.m., school assist - A student was transported home from a high school for inappropriate behavior.

4:23 p.m.,traffic accident - A hit-and-run accident was reported on South Washington Street.

5:08 p.m., assault - A man at a South Washington Street business was assaulted by a woman.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


9:10 a.m. Jamestown- A man stole a red basket full of groceries from a business on Highway 108.

10:38 a.m., Columbia - One horse and more than a dozen dogs were left behind when people were evicted from a Cedarcrest Road residence.

2:59 p.m., Sonora area - A woman said silverware was stolen from her home on Wasatch Mountain Drive.

6:16 p.m., Jamestown - A woman was scared by a hitchhiker she had picked up at the junction of J59 and Highway 108. The woman made him get out of her car.

Felony bookings


1:22 a.m., Columbia area - Tonya Leann Slate, 33, transient, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife and a misdemeanor charge of drug possession, after an arrest on Covington Mine Road.

9:16 a.m., Twain Harte - Jose Jesus Orozco-Mejia, 35, of the 23000 block of Twain Harte Drive, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at his home.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


12:32 p.m., Angels Camp - Someone said that several chickens were stolen at Whittle Road.

4:51 p.m., Valley Springs - A church on California Street was burglarized.
