The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


2:28 p.m., theft - A bag was stolen from a person at a business on Sanguinetti Road.

4:21 p.m., drugs - A report was taken for drug-related activity on South Barretta Street.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


10:42 a.m., East Sonora - A man was acting strange and staring into random businesses on Camage Avenue.

12:41 p.m., Jamestown - A 49-year-old woman was staggering in a westerly direction on Highway 108 at Montezuma Junction. She was arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of public intoxication.

1:54 p.m., Sonora area - A man on Wards Ferry Road said his debit card was used without his permission to make two purchases worth $50.

4:01 p.m., Sonora area - Someone was concerned about a debris burn getting out of control on Brennan Court.

4:05 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village - Food was stolen in a burglary at the Word of Life Fellowship on Highway 108.

4:29 p.m., Groveland - Someone pried open the front door of a residence on South Boitano Road and stole a television, sound system and jewelry.


6:11 a.m., Sonora area - A resident on Sparrow Lane wanted to file a theft report for a stolen sweatshirt and pair of socks.

7:30 a.m., Jamestown - A truck and trailer were stolen from behind a locked gate at a business on Victoria Place.

7:58 a.m., Sonora area - A Buena Oaks Court resident said three packages delivered by UPS had been stolen.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


9:38 p.m., Sonora - Misty Dawn Gavi, 29, of the 17900 block of Seco Street, Jamestown, was arrested on the 1000 block of Sanguinetti Road.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:24 a.m., San Andreas - A theft occurred at a business on West St. Charles Street.

8:24 a.m., San Andreas - A theft occurred at a business at Russell Road and Market Street.

9:18 a.m., Burson - A scammer claiming to be with the IRS called a residence on Highway 12.

10:48 a.m., Burson - A man was acting odd while looking through something in a car on Burson Road. He drove away when the caller approached him.

3:49 p.m., Jenny Lind - A residence was burglarized on Scenic Valley Drive.

Felony bookings


6:45 p.m., Angels Camp - Anthony Rudy Bettencourt, 50, of Modesto, and Lacie Nicole Hogue, 30, of the 600 block of Thrasher Avenue, Modesto, were booked on suspicion of drug possession and criminal conspiracy, after arrests at Angels Road and Highway 4.
