The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:42 a.m., San Andreas - Phony $1 bills were found at the Calaveras County Library on Gold Hunter Road.

10:34 a.m., San Andreas - Picnic tables were vandalized at a mobile home park on Gold Strike Road.

11:22 a.m., San Andreas - A verbal altercation occurred between people at the Calaveras County Superior Court building on Government Center Drive.

1:28 p.m., Paloma - Someone tried to pry open mailboxes on Lawson Road.

3:15 p.m., Campo Seco - A caller found mail scattered on Cosgrove Creek Road.

9:50 p.m., Wallace - A report was taken for forgery on Whalen Road.

Felony bookings


12:45 p.m., San Andreas - Ki Tama Purvis, 28, of the 3300 block of Highway 49, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest on the 3400 block of Highway 49.


The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


10:57 p.m., found property - A citizen reported a red bicycle left abandoned at Rotary Park on Woods Creek Drive. An officer took the bike to a police garage for safekeeping.

11:18 p.m., any civil problem - A woman said a business on South Washington Street sold her a vehicle that was not legal to be sold. The police determined it was a civil issue.

11:42 a.m., theft - Gasoline was stolen from a vehicle on Wyckhoff Street.

12:59 p.m., assault - Students got into a fight at Sonora High on North Washington Street. The involved students were transported to the Tuolumne County Probation Department.

1:15 p.m., theft - A 30-year-old woman was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor petty theft at a business on South Washington Street.

4:25 p.m., fraudulent activities - A Sonora resident at an unspecified address received a fraudulent bill from a phone book company.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:55 a.m., Jamestown - A woman was walking in a field near Seventh Street and looking for something in the blackberry bushes.

9:03 a.m., Jamestown - A man was banned from an eatery on Highway 108 after refusing to pay for a portion of his meal. The man admitted to using foul language at the waitress and leaving without paying, because he didn't like the potatoes and gravy and she wouldn't discount the items from his check. The waitress said the man has done this two other times in the past.

1:38 p.m., Sonora area - A Wild Horse Lane woman's 14-year-old daughter stole her mom's credit card and used it to sign up for an online dating website for self-proclaimed vampires. The charges didn't go through, but the mother wanted her daughter to learn a lesson. A sheriff's deputy spoke to the girl about stealing from her parents.

3:15 p.m., Sonora area - A woman requested Cal Fire respond to Crystal Falls Drive for someone burning a pile of trash.

4:47 p.m., Sonora area - Someone was reportedly chased by a loose pit bull and bull mastiff at West Walnut and Eureka drives.

5:17 p.m., Sonora area - A fight over DVD movies occurred between roommates at a residence on Highway 49.

11:49 p.m., Twain Harte - A man stole two 30-packs of beer at a business on Joaquin Gully Road.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


10 p.m., Sonora - Steven John Ames, 54, of the 22600 block of Twain Harte Drive, Twain Harte, was arrested at Sonora Regional Medical Center on Greenley Road.

12:22 p.m., East Sonora - Brenda Marie Grilli, 54, of the 10700 block of Sierra Meadows Drive, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest on the 13900 of Mono Way.

1:06 p.m., East Sonora - Joshua Eugene Kelly, 29, of the 100 block of Alley Way, was booked on suspicion of petty theft with a prior conviction, after an arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

4:37 p.m., East Sonora - Janee Michelle Johnson, 44, of the 19700 block of Serrano Road, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and transporting drugs, after an arrest at Standard Road and Mono Way.

6:28 p.m., Sonora - Adam Julian Schrock, 41, of the 100 block of Linoberg Street, was booked on suspicion of damaging a telephone or power line and possession of concentrated marijuana, after an arrest at his home.
