Lottery winner claims jackpot

A month after a San Andreas grocery store sold a winning SuperLotto Plus ticket, the winner claimed her prize at the California Lottery's district office in Sacramento.

Judith Vermason bought the winning ticket about noon on Christmas Eve at Treat's General Store, and she cashed it in last Thursday.

Vermason chose to take the cash value of the winning ticket, which is $4.4 million.

The San Andreas woman told state lottery officials that she plans to invest the money for her retirement.
