'Dangerous' winds forecast

Union Democrat staff

The National Weather Service is warning the public of the potential for a "dangerous" Sierra wind storm stretching from today through Saturday.

People should be aware of dangerous driving conditions, and power outages and downed trees and power lines.

Northeast winds could increase to 60-90 mph tonight, with the strongest winds above 3,000 feet.

"Strong speeds will continue through Saturday morning," the weather advisory says.
