The Meadow Fire, a 1.5-acre blaze on Strawberry Peak, is burning about a mile southeast of Beardsley Campground on the Summit Ranger District.

The fire is experiencing a "slow to moderate spread," said Stanislaus National Forest spokeswoman Veronica Garcia.

"There's full response in place," she said shortly before 4 p.m. "Firefighters are working on putting line and hose around the fire."

Three engines and one helicopter have been assigned to the fire.
