Calaveras leaders to appoint panelists

Public meeting: Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, 9 a.m. Tuesday, Board of Supervisors Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will consider Tuesday appointing various applicants to different county committees, commissions and advisory boards.

Applications have been received for the Copperopolis Cemetery District, Domestic Animal Advisory Committee and the county's mental health board.

There are numerous vacancies for committees, commissions and boards in which the county received no applicants. Those include the Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board, the Area 12 Agency on Aging Advisory Council, Rail Road Flat Cemetery District, Commission on Aging, Emergency Medical Services Oversight Committee and Parks and Recreation Commission.

The board Tuesday also plans to:

• adopt a resolution recognizing Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Baker for "exemplary service" to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

• consider amending an agreement associated with the Wagon Trail Realignment Project. That project aims to realign a 6.5-mile stretch of Highway 4 between Copperopolis and Angels Camp.
