Women arrested for credit card fraud

Angels Camp Police Department arrested three women who allegedly used stolen credit cards and identity information on a shopping spree from Fresno to Reno.

Amanda Nicole Nicoletti, 27, of Clovis, Bobbie Jo Heiss, 26, of Oakhurst, and Brittney Janet Booth, 27, of Fresno, were all booked late Tuesday for numerous felonies including grand theft, identity theft, forgery and burglary after being reported for a suspicious attempted purchase in the afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., someone reported two women in a business on the 1200 block of South Main Street who tried to buy $5,000 worth of jewelry, then left when their cards didn't go through.

They were not found until the evening along with a third woman, and were discovered to be in possession of false identification, stolen or altered identification, forged credit cards, stolen mail, credit card blanks to make new cards, a credit card embosser, stolen checks and purchased merchandise, police said.

They also had digital storage devices and computers in their motel rooms, the report said.

Nicoletti was also charged with drug possession for methamphetamine found in the search and had three felony warrants from Fresno County, according to the police department.

Receipts and other evidence pointed to their travel from the Fresno area to Reno and showed they had recently been in Amador and Tuolumne counties. Law enforcement agencies were notified in the respective counties.

The Secret Service was notified and will assist in the investigation of the digital material and could seek federal charges.
