Rim Fire: Strawberry fest canceled

Union Democrat staff /

The Strawberry Music Festival, the popular music festival planned for Camp Mather Labor Day weekend has been cancelled.

Organizers of the festival said their event permit from the county was cancelled due to safety issues stemming from the Rim Fire, which actually spurred calls yesterday for camp's evacuation.

Organizer Charlie Crain said earlier this week that it's unlikely the festival would be relocated.
