The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


9:34 a.m., obstructing justice - A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of falsely identifying himself on North Poplar Street.

8:39 p.m., traffic accident - A driver damaged another vehicle while parking in a lot on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

9:19 p.m., burglary - A man stole a camera that was on display at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.


12:26 a.m., weapons violation - Secondhand information came in about someone with a handgun on South Washington. Police were unable to locate the person.

1:36 a.m., theft - A man was arrested for theft of medication on South Washington Street.

5:04 p.m., theft - A woman's purse was stolen from a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

10:34 p.m., disorderly conduct - A group of people walked down East Lyons Street and Short Lane yelling, drinking and throwing firework poppers at passing vehicles.


3:34 a.m., disorderly conduct - People were yelling on Yaney Avenue.

6:34 p.m., traffic citation - A driver was cited for driving without proof of insurance and given a warning for texting and driving on South Washington Street.

11:59 p.m., bad check - Customers at a business on the 800 block of Mono Way tried to pay with a bad check.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


2:03 a.m., Jamestown - A man was riding a bicycle naked at Campo Seco Road and Martin Lane.

4:25 a.m., Crystal Falls - A suspicious man was seen at a residence on the 21600 block of Crystal Lake Drive. When he was spotted, he took off running and then a very loud truck started and sped away.

9:57 a.m., Crystal Falls - A man and a woman appeared to be casing the neighborhood at Colorado River and Smokey River drives. They were rolling a suitcase with them along the road looking at all the houses.

11:53 a.m., Twain Harte - A man threatened his wife because she wouldn't give him her medication and refused talk to him on the 2300 block of Fuller Road.

3:07 p.m., East Sonora - A transient woman was yelling and screaming and urinating all over the bathroom at a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way

4:34 p.m., Jamestown area - A vehicle was broken into near the bridge at the Tuolumne-Calaveras County line.

9:57 p.m., Tuolumne - A youth was in the emergency room claiming he was assaulted by another youth at the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee.


1:51 a.m., Tuolumne - A fight was reported at the 18300 block of Bay Avenue but the alleged fighters could not be found.

4:03 a.m., Sonora area - Someone tried to enter a house on the 16900 block of Mono Vista Road North. The caller believes it was a neighbor who was drunk and tried the wrong house.

9 to 10 a.m., Don Pedro - Numerous warnings were given on Lake Don Pedro for traffic violations.

1:15 p.m., Jamestown - Gas was siphoned on the 18500 block of Manor Drive.

2:09 p.m., Tuolumne - A man on the 20100 block of Old Buchanan Mine Road wanted a welfare check on his neighbor who was running around naked, yelling and screaming. The neighbor was OK and "just enjoys dancing naked around his fire pit."

3:03 p.m., Sonora - A man received three phone calls from a man with a blocked number within five minutes. The caller said "I'm going to blow up your house" and made other threats.

4:05 p.m., Tuolumne - A window on a truck was broken the 18500 block of Cedar Street.

4:34 p.m. Long Barn - A man was threatened a hammer on the 24900 block of Highway 108.

5:31 p.m., Groveland - Campers were arguing at Cherry Lake Campground. One camper mentioned he had a gun and would use it if he needed to.

5:51 p.m., East Sonora - A man assaulted a woman in a vehicle at Standard Road and Highway 108. Law enforcement found the vehicle abandoned, with the windshield broken out and blood on the steering wheel, door and roof.

6:35 p.m., Don Pedro - Intoxicated people on a boat exposed themselves and said inappropriate things to children on another boat on Lake Don Pedro.

6:47 p.m., Jamestown - A woman was arrested for assault on the 1800 block of Seco Street.

6:48 p.m., Sonora - Two men in a white Chevrolet S10 broke a window out of a camper shell with a rock on the 20100 block of Rough and Ready Trail.

7:24 p.m., Tuolumne - A group of more 50 teenagers gathered in what may have been a fight on the 18300 block of Fir Avenue.

7:20 to 7:29 p.m., Don Pedro - Numerous warnings were given on Lake Don Pedro for traffic violations.

10:22 p.m., Crystal Falls - A man met a car at the park on Crystal Falls Drive and they may have done "some kind of deal."

10:38 p.m., East Sonora - A man who drank "at least one pitcher of beer" at a business on 13700 block of Mono Way threatened to hurt the four children he was with.

11:48 p.m., Sonora area - A large man tried to open a woman's front door on the 15500 block of Buena Vista Avenida, then ran behind her house.


2:31 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village - A suspicious package was just left in the driveway of the fire station on Highway 108.

10:43 a.m., Moccasin - A man in his early 20s wearing a swimsuit jumped off the Jacksonville Bridge over Lake Don Pedro.

12:18 p.m., Columbia - A roommate is refusing to give a woman her medication back on the 11300 block of Columbia Village Drive.

1:57 p.m., Sonora area - A burglary was reported on the 18900 block of Black Oak Road.

2:29 p.m., Long Barn - Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle at Lyons Lake.

5:45 p.m., Sonora area - Someone broke into a vehicle and stole a radio on Partridge Way.

5:45 p.m., Sonora area - Someone stole property from an unlocked vehicle on 19400 block of Mount Echo Road.

6:43 p.m., Groveland - A wounded mountain lion was reported around 20700 block of Morgan Drive.

9:30 p.m., Long Barn - A woman's ex-husband threatened to put a bag over her head "so she does not wake up" on the 24900 block of Highway 108.

9:37 p.m., Groveland - Several calls came in regarding an argument on the 19500 block of Ferretti Road.

10:02 p.m., Groveland - Someone was "jumped" and hit in the head with something metal near the 19500 block of Ferretti Road.

10:17 p.m., Sonora - A stereo was stolen from a locked car on 20200 block of Partridge Way.


12:07 p.m., Twain Harte - A young man came home after drinking and assaulted numerous family members on the 19100 block of Highlander Drive.

1:59 a.m., Sonora - A rifle and cigarettes were taken from property on the 19500 block of Callahan Road.

2:16 a.m., Columbia - A woman was drinking and hit her husband and children on the 22100 block of Becky River Lane.

2:38 a.m., Columbia - An assault occurred on Becky River Lane at Parrotts Ferry Road.

2:57 a.m., Pinecrest - A woman heard a "large bear growl" at Lakeshore Avenue and Pinecrest Ramp Road.

Felony bookings


12:38 p.m., Sonora - Michael James Balden, 50, of the 11700 block of Campo Seco Road, was booked on suspicion of violating post-release community supervision after an arrest on the 1100 block of Highway 49.

4:36 p.m., Sonora - Elizabeth Ann Krage, 57, of the 400 block of Bonanza Court, was booked on suspicion of spousal abuse after an arrest at her home.
