The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


7:09 a.m., burglary - A vehicle was burglarized overnight on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

9:20 a.m., drugs - Drug paraphernalia and a handgun were found on the 800 block of Mono Way.

1:15 p.m., traffic violation - A 35-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of driving without a license and speeding on Stockton Road.

4:35 p.m., fraud - Someone was making fake checks using another person's bank routing and account numbers.

4:42 p.m., traffic accident - A hit-and-run was reported at Sonora High School.

5:18 p.m., traffic accident - Parties exchanged information after an auto accident at Mono Way and Greenley Road.

9:52 p.m., warrant arrest - A 54-year-old man was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant.


1:42 a.m., driving under the influence - A Sonora Regional Medical Center patient was given medication and told not to drive but left the hospital anyway. Police were unable to locate the person.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:57 a.m., Long Barn - A woman said her mother's boyfriend beat her up on the 26000 block of North Fork Road but refused an ambulance.

10:31 a.m., Jamestown - Someone has been shooting BB guns carelessly on the 17900 block of Seco Street.

11:54 a.m., Columbia - A 45-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of probation on the 22700 block of Quail Valley Road.

2:32 p.m., Sonora - Someone was cited on suspicion of driving with expired vehicle registration and without proof of insurance on the 900 block of Mono Way.

8:02 p.m., Jamestown - A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of more than an ounce of marijuana on the 18100 block of Fifth Avenue.

Felony bookings


2:08 a.m., Sonora - Janice Marie Barton, 41, of the 19500 block of Mi-Wu Street, Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of bringing drugs into a jail or prison and possession of drugs after an arrest on South Stewart at William streets. She was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and on warrants.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


11:57 p.m., Sonora area - Frank Richard Sylvester, 35, of the 19400 block of Sullivan Creek Road, was booked after an arrest at his home.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


10:44 a.m., Arnold - A 45-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for willful cruelty to a child on Black Oak Drive.

11:26 a.m., Angels Camp - A 36-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person on Esmeralda Road.

4:59 p.m., Murphys - A 56-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants for violation of probation at Main and Algiers streets.

10:13 p.m., San Andreas - Identity theft was reported on West St. Charles Street.

10:55 p.m., Wilseyville - A structure fire was reported at Highway 26 and North Railroad Flat Road.


7:14 a.m., San Andreas - Someone tried to break into a residence on the 600 block of Mountain Ranch Road.
