The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


8:17 a.m., warrant arrests - A 33-year-old woman was arrested on the 100 block of Snell Street on Merced County warrants for possession of drugs charges.

9:10 a.m., suspicious circumstances - A man was taking photos of license plates of city vehicles parked on School Street. The man denied it when contacted by an officer.

12:54 p.m., suspicious circumstances - A woman who smelled of alcohol drove away from a business on Mono Way. Officers were unable to locate her.

1:32 p.m., vandalism - A car was keyed on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

1:56 p.m., theft - Cigarettes were stolen from a business on the 100 block of Stockton Road.

1:29 p.m., disorderly conduct - Two people were fighting in Courthouse Square. An officer contacted one of them, who declined medical attention and would not provide suspect information.

9:43 p.m., traffic violations - A 23-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving without a license or vehicle registration on Greenley Road.

11:07 p.m., warrant arrest - A 28-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation and failure to appear in court.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


9:38 p.m., Sonora area - A $106 charge was made to a woman's credit card after she gave the number to someone claiming to be with Microsoft.

10:32 a.m., Twain Harte - A man claiming to be a federal drug agent threatened a woman and asked her to send him $2,500.

1:29 p.m., Sonora area - A purse was stolen from a vehicle on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

2:14 p.m., East Sonora - A woman was attempting to send $2,000 via MoneyGram to the Dominican Republic at a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way. She said it was to bail her grandson out of jail in Reno, Nev. A deputy determined it was a scam.

3:11 p.m., Tuolumne - About $4,000 was stolen from a residence on the 16800 block of Apple Colony Road.

3:24 p.m., Sonora area - A cellphone, iPad and other items were stolen from a house and vehicle on the 18900 block of Black Oak Road.

11:56 p.m., Tuolumne - A woman dropped a small plastic bag possibly containing methamphetamine at a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North.


7:27 a.m., Big Oak Flat - An electric company's air compressor was vandalized on the 17400 block of Highway 120.

Felony bookings


2:38 p.m, Columbia - Nicolette Laurel Ciabatti, 24, of the 22400 block of South Airport Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest at her home.

8:15 p.m., Jamestown - Justan Michael Hughes, 32, of the 200 block of Mono Way, was booked on suspicion of reckless evading of a peace officer on Highway 108 at Bell Mooney Road.

7:55 p.m., Jamestown - Brett Jamison Wolf, 28, of the 10000 block of Willow Street, was booked after an arrest on Jamestown Road at Fifth Avenue.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


9:02 a.m., Arnold - Electric lines were arcing and melting over the roadway on Camanche Court.

9:12 p.m., Valley Springs - People were arguing on Saint Andrews Drive and one smashed a windshield.

10:38 a.m., San Andreas - Theft was reported on the 200 block of California Street.

11:46 a.m., Valley Springs - Contributing to the delinquency of a minor was reported at a business on the 500 block of Highway 12.

12:09 p.m., Angels Camp - A possible intoxicated driver was reported at Highway 49 and North Main Street.

2:13 p.m., Mokelumne Hill - Reckless driving was reported at Highway 49 and Lombardi Drive.

7:56 p.m., Arnold - Douglas Scott Garfield, 53, of the 1000 block of Highway 4, was booked on suspicion of resisting an executive officer after an arrest at his home. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of obstructing a public officer and battery on a peace officer or emergency technician.
