Dessert auction is senior project

Sonora High School student Viki Morrison will host a dessert auction and social to raise money for renovating the Community Assembly of God in Tuolumne.

The auction and social will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church at 18785 Pine Street in Tuolumne. Desserts will include pies and cakes, with time to eat afterwards.

Morrison, 18, will use the proceeds to renovate three rooms at the Community Assembly of God - the kitchen, fellowship hall and a Sunday school classroom. She chose to do the work as her senior exit project for Sonora High School.

Morrison takes college classes through the Columbia College middle college program at Sonora High. She lives with her family near Soulsbyville.
