One person was killed and two others were injured in an auto accident near Vallecito this afternoon.

The wreck, involving a Toyota Prius and a Dodge pickup truck, was reported at 1:58 p.m. on Highway 4 near Parrotts Ferry Road.

Details are sketchy, but, according to California Highway Patrol, the eastbound Prius entered the Dodge's westbound lane and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Prius was killed.

The driver of the Dodge, Marcello Bigotti, 51, of Walnut Creek, complained of arm pain following the crash. His wife and passanger, Shirley Bigotti, also 51, may have suffered a broken leg and was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center.

Marcello Bigotti said they were returning home, after visiting their Arnold cabin.

Three dogs in their truck were uninjured.

The identity of the other driver was not available.
