Another discount store has plans to open in Jamestown.

Plans are under way to open a Grocery Depot at 18365 Highway 108 in Jamestown, according to the Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority.

Grocery Depot, which includes a location in Oakdale, sells overstock, closeouts and other discount grocery items. Locations also exist in Stockton and Sacramento.

According to TCEDA, the partners looking to open the local store - Dan and Debbi Fox and Cheryl Sager - also opened the Oakdale location and are based in the Modesto area.

They have already submitted a request for a fictitious business name with the county.

A second discounter, Dollar General, is expected to open a 9,100 square-foot store on Highway 108, south of Rawhide Road, next to the former Rawhide Saloon.
