Rancheria home hit by fire on Monday

A house on the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Rancheria was damaged in a fire Monday morning.

The blaze on the 19000 block of Mi Wu Street was reported at 10:42 a.m. and contained shortly after, according to Cal Fire.

"They got it knocked out pretty quick," Cal Fire spokeswoman Lisa Williams said.

Reports did not indicate an exact containment time, she said.

Fire officials remained on scene into the afternoon to assess the damage and investigate the cause.

While on scene about 1:30 p.m., Tuolumne County Fire Investigator Steve Gregory said both the cause and extent of the damage were still under investigation.

The last units left the scene at 2:05 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Engines from Tuolumne County Fire's Mono Village, Mono Vista, Jamestown and Mi Wuk stations responded.

Also on scene was Twain Harte Fire Department, Tuolumne City Fire Department, Cal Fire and Tuolumne Rancheria Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.
