TUD sets series of meetings

Chris Caskey, The Union Democrat /

The Tuolumne Utilities District will hold a handful of meetings in the coming weeks, including public workshops on TUD operations.

The workshops are part of a series dedicated to educating new utility directors and members of the public about the organization. On Wednesday, TUD officials will give an overview at 1:30 p.m. of the district's water system and the local ditches. The meeting will be followed by a tour from 3 to 5 p.m.

TUD will then hold a similar meeting at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 on the water treatment system, with a tour scheduled the same day for 3 to 5 p.m. Both tours are open to the public, though those wishing to participate should contact Lisa Westbrook at lisaw@tudwater.com or 532-5536, ext. 501.

The workshops will take place in the district board room on Nugget Boulevard off Tuolumne Road.

The district will hold its regular meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with agenda items including a public discussion on the lawsuit between the district and the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance as well as a review of projects and purchases that are part of the 2012-13 capital project schedule.
