Rosalinda standoff nets three arrests

Union Democrat staff /

Authorities are still looking for a man who was the subject of an hours-long weekend SWAT search and standoff at Rosalinda's Gentlemen's Club west of Jamestown.

The incident began about 3 p.m. Friday and centered around a room in the hotel beside Rosalinda's at 14450 Highway 108.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office, the SWAT team responded after the Sheriff's Office received a tip from Modesto police that a convicted felon, known to be armed and carry body armor, was staying at the room. It is illegal for convicted felons to carry firearms.

The authorities worked on scene for hours until forcing entry, deploying tear gas and a robot with a camera.

The man, whose name was withheld by sheriff's officials, was not found on-site. However, three other people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Tanisha Flaherty, of Modesto, and Stephen Frederick, of Oakdale, were held for alleged parole violations.

Nicolet Schmidt was arrested for allegedly carrying a concealed firearm, according to the Sheriff's Office.
